Long-Time Danbury Banker Mark Chory Joins Union Savings Bank

Webster Bank loses Mark Chory to the competition, Union Savings Bank.

Union Savings Bank hired long-time Danbury Banker Mark S. Chory as vice president of commercial lending, according to a company press release.

“Mark’s more than 20 years of experience ... is an invaluable addition to the Union Savings Bank team,” said Union Savings Bank President and CEO Jay Lent.

Union Savings Bank, headquartered in Danbury, is a $2.5 billion mutual bank dedicated to being the bank of choice in western Connecticut.

In his new position, Chory is responsible for developing and managing commercial account relationships. Prior to joining Union Savings Bank, Chory was vice president, relationship manager and, most recently, portfolio manager at Webster Bank, where he worked since 1992, according to the bank press release.

A Danbury resident his entire life, Chory is married to Jean Chory and has a daughter Rebecca. Mark is a familiar sight on Main Street, active on the Danbury Parking Authority, Family and Children’s AID, Lebanon American Club and the City of Danbury’s Government Entities Review Board. Chory volunteers with the Wooster Hose Fire Department, as an EMT and United Way Day of Caring volunteer, according to the press release.
