This news comes on the heels of the company's owner being charged on August 1 in Hamden with passing a $33,853 bad check, according to Hamden Police. Police said Robert Reiling of Brookfield, the owner of Fairfield Glass Co., which is in the same building as Danbury Glass, was charged with paying Yankee Aluminum with a $33,853 check that didn't clear the bank.

The state Labor Department investigates all claims when workers say they are not paid. The claim is considered just that, a claim, until it is proven or disproven.
