Danbury Police Report Rash of Smash and Grabs
Small businesses are being burgled by someone kicking in a window or door and grabbing the nearest cash or cigarettes.
Danbury Police are investigating a series of "smash and grab" break-ins in Danbury over the past week. In all cases, either the window was broken or the door was kicked in.
Police said petty cash and cigarettes were taken.
On Jan. 29, the Valero Gas Station on Padanaram Road was the target. On the same day, Black and Gold Foodmart at 52a Pembroke Road was the target. On Jan. 30, Caper Too Deli at 2 Germantown Road was the target, and on the same day, the Shell Gas Station at 2 Old Shelter Rock Road was the target. On Jan. 31, the Panache Car Wash at 65 Mill Plain Road was the target. On Tuesday, Mutual Motors/ Sunoco was the target at 17 Mill Plain Road. That same day, someone hit Nicks Restaurant at 4 Starr St., and Monroe Muffler at 41 Lake Avenue Extension.
