Danbury Families Flock to Newtown Park to Enjoy Sunshine [PHOTOS]

Dickinson Town Park is the place to be with this summer-like weather, even for a few Danbury residents.

Joe Ellul of Danbury was getting in some quality time with his 3-year-old granddaughter on Thursday afternoon.

Grandpa took his granddaughter, Rusa, to play at . They were joined by Rusa's aunt, Jessica Ellul. And they certainly weren't the only ones out enjoying what are shaping up to be historically high temps for this time of year.

Sandy Hook resident Jennifer Kelly was at Dickinson with her two son, Jacob, 19 months, and Connor, 4. The two carried a bag of goldfish in one hand as they navigated their way through the wooden playground with mom's guiding hand always close by.

"They really keep this place beautiful," Joe Ellul said as he walked off with Rusa and Jessica to take a stroll along the brook that runs through the property. Nearby others were eating lunch at picnic tables and at the adjacent golf course, a few guys were enjoying a mid-day round.
