Danbury Church Starts Eviction of Couple

Published reports say the family hasn't paid rent since September.

A Danbury church that is the spiritual home for the city’s Lebanese and Syrian Christians has begun eviction procedures against a couple who are living in a church-owned house but have stopped paying rent.

The Danbury News-Times reported that the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church filed a formal complaint in state court Thursday to evict the couple and their two children. A second couple is also said to be living unlawfully at the house on Kohanza Street.

The tenants, Jaime Iniquinga and Adelaya Valdevizio, reportedly haven’t paid their rent since September.
