Bruegger's Bagels Open on Crosby Street

Danbury has a new breakfast and lunch spot a half block from Main on Crosby.

Bruegger’s Bagels opened at 33 Crosby St., Thursday, offering a wide selection of bagels, cream cheese spreads and breakfast foods, as well as soup, sandwiches and other lunch foods.

It is next door to Papa John’s Pizza and the downtown dance studio, A Common Ground, a half block from Main Street.

“It’s a step up brand-wise,” said Dan Bertram, of BRT General Corp., which brought the Bruegger franchise to Danbury.

Bertram said he was very happy to see the city and Landlord Joe DaSilva doing work to improve Library Place, which is two blocks south of the new bagel restaurant.

“I embrace anybody putting money into downtown. It will help everybody,” Bertram said.
