A Green Will Replace Roberts Avenue School
The demolition is over, and the clean-up is underway on the former Roberts Avenue School. Western Connecticut State University is planning a lawn on the site.
The former Roberts Avenue School will give way to a lawn once the demolition and the planting is done.
The old school on Roberts Avenue was replaced with the Ellsworth Avenue School, and its new owner, Western Connecticut State University, will plant a lawn where it now is. According to the university's master plan, the lawn will someday include paths like those in the university's quad.
Nearby, but toward the Locust Street side of the property, the master plan calls for a new dorm to be constructed. There is no date yet set for that construction.
